In mid-March, I escaped the hustle and bustle of the city and headed for the Restaurants area on the 6th floor of Hikarie in Shibuya, Tokyo. The time shows 1:50 p.m., and our destination for the day is a hidden gem of Korean Cuisine tucked away in the middle of nowhere. When I arrived, there was already a group of customers waiting in front of me, and I decided to join them. The wait time was short and the waiter handed me a menu so I could think about what I was going to eat before entering. Within 10 minutes, I was guided into the store and sat at the counter. The interior of the restaurant is decorated with old-fashioned Korean interior design, creating a calm and warm atmosphere that will instantly make you forget the hustle and bustle of the city. I ordered Sundubu jjigae with extra spiciness and mini bulgogi set. The feature of this restaurant is that in addition to the main dish, the set includes 4 side dishes, rice, soup, and dessert. Since it is located in a commercial facility, the toilets are shared on the floor, but this also creates a sense of unity unique to this location. The first thing that was served was today's side dish, steamed chicken. The flavor was well-infused, and each bite was a delicious foretaste of the beginning of a journey. The 15 minutes before the food is served is a time of heightened anticipation and excitement. Bulgogi is a style that is enjoyed wrapped in a variety of leafy vegetables such as red cabbage, perilla, sesame seeds, and salad greens. When you wrap the meat with kimchi and bring it to your mouth, the flavor of the meat and the sourness of the kimchi harmonize perfectly, and it is so delicious that you will be speechless. Sundubu Jjigae has clams added to it, and you can adjust the spiciness to your liking by adding a separate serving, so when you add the whole amount, you can't help but sweat from the spiciness. However, the spiciness is addictive, and together with the ingredients such as shimeji mushrooms, carrots, and onions, and the rich tofu, it is a dish that makes you feel happy. I paid with PayPay and left the store grateful for the cashless convenience of this store. This Korean Cuisine restaurant offers more than just a meal, leaving you feeling satisfied after your meal. Authentic Korean Cuisine in an old-fashioned atmosphere provides an extraordinary experience in the heart of the city. My experience at this place renewed my love and exploration of food, and I want to visit again.
