This Mexican restaurant is known only to those in the know in Shibuya. It is said to be the founder of the modern Mexican restaurant RUBIA. An American friend who is a Mexican food lover took me there. When you open the door, it's like you're in a foreign country. It's full of gourmet foreigners and the percentage of Japanese customers is low. And it was full throughout our stay, so it was obvious that it was a popular restaurant. The authentic style tacos are palm-sized cornflour tortillas topped with a variety of ingredients. There is also a vegan menu, and we ordered ⚫︎Tofu Pastor with pineapple, ⚫︎Pork stewed in orange (carnitas), and ⚫︎Minced meat stewed in tomato (picajo). The corn elote is also rich in spice and aroma, and is delicious enough to make you want to have it again and again. The margarita, a frozen margarita with green chili peppers and cucumber, has a dry and spicy taste that is addictive. Other have tequila, mezcal, and a selection of tequilas made by famous people, and the variety is also appealing. For dessert, I had cactus ice cream.
