We decided to escape the hustle and bustle of Shibuya and hold our New Year's party at Tori Ichiban, a Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) that is popular with locals and tourists alike. Although this store is located close to downtown Shibuya, it has a calm atmosphere that gives you a nostalgic feel. When you enter the store, you are greeted by a lively interior and the pleasant aroma of charcoal fire. Once we started ordering, the staff enthusiastically explained to us about their recommendations and seasonal special menus. In particular, Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), which was slowly grilled with homemade sauce, was exquisite, crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.
