渋谷パルコの地下1階で、いつも行列ができている「極味や」。福岡に本店を構える焼肉・ハンバーグのお店だ。たまたま通りかかったこの日、行列が少ない気がしたので、並んでみたら、ちょうど入れ替えのタイミングだったみたいで、結局20分ほど待つことになってしまった。
待っている間にメニューを見つつオーダーができるのは良い仕組み。ハンバーグも食べたいし、ステーキも食べたい。そんな人に最適なのがハンバーグとステーキがセットになった「極味やハンバーグ＆特選伊萬里牛ステーキ」。ステーキのサイズは60グラムだが、ハンバーグをS（120g）、M（160g）、L（200g）から選べる。悩むことなくMサイズをオーダー。お値段は2,490円。加えてご飯とスープ、サラダ、ソフトクリームがつくセット（350円）も。なお、ハンバーグ単品のSサイズは1,090円とエントリー価格はリーズナブルに設定されている。
コの字型のカウンターが2つ並ぶ。鉄板をみんなで囲んでいる感じだが、席と席の間には板があり感染症対策が施されている。最初にスープとサラダ、そして薬味が6種類提供される。続いて、鉄板にハンバーグが。丁寧に焼いていく途中で、ネギとガーリックの有無を聞かれる。当然のことながら両方とも「有」だ。ちょっと激レアかな、というぐらいでお皿に置かれる。ここで、「あとは鉄板で焼いて、薬味をつけてお召し上がりください」のご指導。なるほどだ。
手前の引き出しには金属のお箸と割り箸が入っており、金属のお箸でハンバーグを焼く仕組み。表面に焼き色を付けることで、カリッとした食感、中のレア加減は自分で選べるのが良い。伊万里牛のステーキもすごく良かったが、個人的にハンバーグがヒットだった。
