A hidden Restaurants in Sakuragaoka run by a chef from a five-star hotel in Nepal
A Nepalese Cuisine conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Shibuya Station. This authentic Restaurants is run by a local chef from a 5-star hotel in Nepal. The curry uses yogurt as a secret ing |
When raw meat grows in the herb garden Shibuya is undergoing redevelopment. The old townscape has disappeared, and no one knows how long it will last. In the Sakuragaoka area, where construction is ongoing, a new wave has come to the curry world. Herb Garden Shibuya store opened on June 1, 2021. It was located a little up the hill. This is where Kantipur, which closed in December, was located. When I went down to the semi-basement and entered the store, I was greeted by a different world view than when Kantipur was there. There is also mural art, but it has a different taste from the murals in Nepal. It is painted with something that looks like a pop Indian cityscape. A female staff member who seems to be from India welcomed me. When I told her that I wanted to takeaway, she showed me the takeaway menu at a seat near the entrance. It seems that the dishes that can be eaten at lunch are almost the same as those available for takeaway. It seems to be a restaurant where you can enjoy both North Indian Cuisine and South Indian Cuisine. It is nice that you can take away dosa, uttapam, biryani, and even meals. We ordered two dishes and waited for a while until the food was ready. The waiting area was right next to the glass kitchen, so it was really fun to watch the food being prepared! It was like watching a magician make the dosa, which looks like it would require skill, with tools that were nearby. If you go, please be sure to take a look! ● Plain Dosa Set 600 yen 600 yen for two types of curry and salad is a bargain. I was expecting the dosa to be a little browner, but it was whitish. It was a little thicker and crunchy than the dosas I usually eat. It had a slight sourness to it. I don't like dosas that are very sour, but this level of sourness was fine. It didn't seem like a regular dosa, but it was crunchy and I actually liked it. It also came with a generous amount of coconut chutney, which was nice and changed the taste to a different level when I dipped it in. It also came with sambar (vegetable curry) and curry without toppings. The one without toppings had a bit of an Indian/Nepalese feel, but both were sour and I didn't dislike them. ●Chicken Biryani Set 800 yen This biryani comes with two large pieces of chicken on the bone and half a boiled egg. This also comes with a salad. This is a brightly colored long-grain rice. I like the plain color of chinigra rice biryani, so this one wasn't my favorite, but it was somehow delicious. The rice wasn't too light and the shredded ginger added a nice accent. The raita was also low in moisture and not too sour, which was good. Isn't it cheap to eat two for 1,400 yen? It's not bad... I'm not sure if it's authentic or not, but strangely, I liked the taste. Please be careful because they are only open until 4pm due to the state of emergency. Also, when I search for the store name, for some reason the website of Meat Bar comes up, which is a mystery, but I hope someone can investigate what it means (lol). Finally, an announcement! This weekend, from 7/17 (Sat), the movie "Jallikattu: The Rage of the Cow" will be released at Shibuya Image Forum. Runaway bull vs. 1000 madmen! A shocking Indian panic thriller movie. Please watch it after eating Indian Cuisine.
