東京でもつ鍋といえば蟻月、蟻月といえばもつ鍋。2003年のオープン以来、福岡の郷土料理において、東京を代表する知名度を誇る『蟻月』の恵比寿本店へ初訪問。
恵比寿駅東口から歩いて10分ちょっと。予約して訪問。かつては予約が取りづらいお店などと言われていたが、現在でも特に週末は実は結構取りにくく、前もって予約しておくことをおすすめする。
ファーストドリンクで、「ゆかりビール」を注文。ゆかりとビールの融合は、要するに“バイスビール”なわけで、さっぱりしていて美味しい。
もつ鍋は、当然イチオシの白味噌を使った「白のもつ鍋」。具材は、ニラとキャベツと牛蒡、そして主役のもつと、至ってシンプル。白味噌をベースにモツの甘みとエキスが溶け出したスープは、ニンニクのパンチが抜群。こってりとした美味しさを発揮する。が、その分、終盤はやや重たく感じるのは致し方ないところ。具材の大半はキャベツが占めるため、もつをおかわり。このもつのおかわりが結構な量で、こってりとしたスープも相まって食べきれず。はじめから、もつの量が増えると嬉しいところ。途中、鍋の前に頼んだおつまみの「明太子3種盛り」を味変用に活用。もつ鍋との相性はもちろん良く、これはおすすめ。
その他、鍋の前に「胡麻かんぱち」や「牛蒡唐揚げ」を注文。牛蒡唐揚げは、パリパリのスナック感覚で無限にいけそう。胡麻かんぱちの胡麻ダレの味が濃く、好みだ。
2名でお会計は¥9000ちょっと。鍋のなかでも、もつ鍋は個人的にランキングは低いが、蟻月ならアリアリです。
