「LOVAT」さんで和牛とワインを満喫した後、もう少し飲んで行こうという話になり、近くにある「BAR 五」さんにお邪魔しました。
場所は、JR恵比寿駅西口のバスロータリーを抜けて、信号を渡って真っ直ぐ進んで行った先にあるビルの地下１階です。少しわかりにくいのですが、１階の階段入口に看板と樽が置いてありました。
入店すると、カウンターとテーブルが少しだけ。私達はテーブルに座りました。
♦︎マティーニ
まずは、初めてのバーでの定番の一杯。ジンはタンカレーで、少し大きめのカクテルグラスにたっぷり注いでくれます。スティックにオリーブが２つ刺してあるのは珍しいですね。
味わいはそれ程ドライではなく、比較的飲みやすいタイプです。
♦︎ハイランドパーク 12年
こちらも、個人的にはシングルモルト一杯目の定番。強すぎないピートの香りと、アイランズ特有の仄かな塩気、やはり最高のスターターです。
♦︎ラフロイグ 10年
最後はガツンと来る一杯。ピートの強烈なスモーキーさ、海由来の強目の塩気とミネラル感、奥に潜む甘さが合わさり、ピート一辺倒ではないところがお気に入りです。いつ飲んでも美味しいですね。
今夜はテーブルでしたので、細かな品揃えまではわかりませんでしたが、バックバーの本数から考えて、かなりのものだと思います。オーセンティックなお店ですが、そこまで静かではなく、居心地が良いのではないでしょうか。あと、遠目に見たマスターのシェイクが気になりました。それを確かめる為にも、次回はカウンターに座りたいですね。
お勘定は２人で11,000円程度です。
