恵比寿でとあるイベントに参加した後の夜、ラテン系の料理が食べたくて予約したのが2017年にオープンしたメキシカンダイナー ラ・エスキーナ-LaEsquina-。
食べログでも高評価の店ですが、何を食べても美味しく、雰囲気、サービスもよく大当たりでした。
一押しはメキシコ料理の定番タコスですが、フィリングを韓国風、和風などにしたクラフトタコスを特に押している様子。
恵比寿らしくおしゃれな外装。
予約して行きましたが、店内は満席でした。さすが恵比寿、デートか女子会のお客さんが目立ちます。外国の方も結構いましたね。
メインのメニューはメキシカン、というよりかアメリカ風のメキシコ料理、Tex-Mex系の料理が多いです。
こちらがクラフトタコスのメニュー。牛ハラミコリアンBBQなど一風変わったのがいくつか。
テキーラも種類が豊富です。それよりも、テキーラのボトルの手書きのイラストで構成されたメニューのセンスの良さに驚きです。
そして、本日のおすすめ。
和とメキシコ、というか、ラテンのフュージョンが並びます。
まずは生ビール。グラスも凝っていてインスタ映えしそう。
内装、食器など全てが調和していてセンスが良いです。
前菜はたーぷり桜エビのワカモレ。
ワカモレが見えないほどに旬の食材、桜エビが山盛りです。
チップスはちょっと厚めのトルティーヤを揚げたもの。
柔らかめの桜エビがアボカドに合いすぎてびっくり。
おすすめメニューはシェフの実力発揮の場所って感じでしょうか。
ソフトシェルクラブタコス、牛ハラミのコリアンBBQタコス、神威豚ポークカルニタスタコスのクラフトタコス３種です。
具が山盛りでちょっと食べにくいのですが、どれも味は完璧。韓国風のタコスはちょっと意外な味ですが、トルティーヤに合わないはずはないですね。
メインはこの店のおすすめのメキシカンローストチキンスペシャルプレートにトルティーヤを4枚追加。
自家製のコーントルティーヤはメキシコらしい保温容器に入って出てきます。
クミンなどのスパイスが効いて柔らかくジューシーに仕上げられたチキン。
アボカド、目玉焼き、トマト、ハラペーニョ、サワークリーム、チーズ、パクチー、サルサなど、トッピングがたくさん並びます。
一つだけメキシコ風でないのが、東南アジア風の甘いスイートチリソース。これは意外にメキシコ風の食材にあいました。
自分で自由に具材を組み合わせていく料理は誰でも好きですね。楽しませる料理、をわかっている店なのかなって思いました。
厨房を見ていた感じ、日本人の方ばかりでしたが、メキシコの経験が長い方なんでしょうか。
私はメキシコで数ヶ月過ごした経験があるのですが、メキシコで食べられる料理の基本はしっかり守っている上で、色々とアレンジされているよう見受けられました。
雰囲気、サービスもよく、楽しい土曜日の夜になりました。
