パリッとしたおいしいサンドイッチが食べたくて。向かったお目当ての人気サンドイッチショップは大行列。ならば、バインミーベーカリーへ行こう。
都内のバインミーの中では、ここのバインミーが一番好きだ。現地の味わいに近い。パンの食感、焼き具合、具材とのハーモニーが非常にいい。
この日は、ハムとパテのサンドを。なますもたっぷりで、程よい酸味とハムとパテとのハーモニーが絶妙。変わらぬおいしさにほっとする。お店の前の路上にいくつか椅子があるから、そこにちょこんと座ってパクパク。
このバインミーはパン生地と具材が一体化していて、パクパクっと食べやすいのが◎。それはこのパンがバインミー用によく考えて作られているからだろう。バゲットのようでバゲットではない、ベトナム独自の文化の中で生まれたベトナムパン。お店で生地から作っている。
パクっと食べてサッと立ち去る。やはりサンドイッチスタンドはそういうスタイルがいい。なんなら椅子もいらない。スタンド形式の小さなテーブルかカウンターさえあれば。
