渋谷の猿楽町にあるこちらのお店、子連れで行くところではないかも、と思いつつ、メニューには牡蠣やツナのグリル、牛スカートステーキなどなどご馳走ぞろいなのにお値段リーズナブル、カスタマイズできるキューバ定食というのもおもしろそうで、かねてから行ってみたいなと思っておりました。先日機会到来、予約してお伺いしました。
お店に到着すると、テーブルはほぼ満席。ですが予約の旨伝えると「お待ちしておりました〜」と大きなテーブル用意しておいてくださいました。そんな一言ってうれしいものです。
今回はカラフルシュリンプサラダ、エビと牡蠣のアヒージョ、グリルドスカートステーキ、ツナのガーリックグリル＋サルサトッピング、キューバンサンドイッチをハーフサイズでお願いしました。すると「サラダには本来アボカドが使われているのだけれど今夜はアボカド品切れで」と申し訳なさそうにウェイトレスさんが。そんなこと言われなければ気がつかないのに、なんて正直！なんだかそれだけでスタッフ皆さん良い人に違いないなんて思ってしまいます。
さてアボカドなしのサラダですが、それでよかったかも。だってその後に続くお料理がどれも渋谷区猿楽町にあるお店とは思えないボリューム。でもどのお皿も、酸味やら香味やらほんのりの辛みなどなど味のバランスが絶妙、おいしくてナイフとフォークが踊りっぱなし。
キューバって行ったことはないけれど、きっと外国の蹂躙に引き裂かれる悲惨な歴史とそれにともなう痛み悲しみがあればこそ、お腹と心を満たすハイブリッドなお料理やお酒、音楽やらが生まれたにちがいありません。
伝染病やら終わらない戦争、気候変動などなど、心が曇ってしまうニュースが多いからこそ、おいしいお料理＆音楽、そして真摯なおもてなしのあるお店で暫し楽天的な気分になりたい、そんな気持ちであれば是非おすすめのお店です。
