仕事の合間にソロランチ。新宿駅西口から徒歩10分ほど、新宿センタービルMB1Fに入居するカフェ。ここでしか食べられないアレを求めてわざわざ食べに行きたくなる、そんな唯一無二のドライカレーを50年前から提供しているお店である。
系列店を含め学生の頃から数えて何度訪れたかわからないが、ここ数年足が遠のいていてひさしぶりの訪問。
とある火曜日11:50頃お邪魔。先客は10名ほどで女子多め。こぢんまりとしたサブナード店と異なりこちらは大箱のため席にはまだ余裕が。ピークはこれからっぽい。
お得なランチセットからBランチ＝ドライカレーとサラダのセットを発注。
ピアノジャズが流れる落ち着いた雰囲気の中待つこと2分でスピード着丼。
やや硬めのご飯の上にスパイシーなピリ辛キーマがこんもり盛られた安定感抜群のフォルム。ひと口頬張るとあれ？こんなに辛かったっけ？wと思わずメニューを二度見しちゃう爽やかな辛さ。
玉ねぎの甘みと挽肉の旨みとともにしっかり汗かけそうな程度のスパイシー感は、まさにこれからの季節向き。〆のアイスコーヒーまでいただいて1210円は、至極妥当なお値段。
