歌舞伎町のど真ん中にあります、わ蔵新宿店です。
歌舞伎町の中でもこれはなかなかディープだなあという通りにあります。真夜中でも眩いばかりのネオンが象徴的である歌舞伎町でビルとビルの狭間にある暗い通りにありますので、知ってないと中々辿り着けないと思います。
お店に近づけば豚骨の匂いがしっかりと漂ってます。雰囲気的には歌舞伎町にひっそりと、しかもしっくり来てるお店ですが、本店は板橋。都内にはいくつか店舗がありますので東京における博多豚骨ラーメンの主要店なのは間違いないです。
わくらーめん【900円】です。まあネーミングはさておき、ノーマルな豚骨ラーメンの事です。麺のかたさはかた麺で。粉落としとから超やわまでありました。
こちらの豚骨ラーメンは大判のバラチャーシューが2枚乗り、メンマも乗ってるという少し東京仕様な豚骨ラーメンです。豚骨の匂いは結構出てます。スープは思ったより本場よりで、飲んだ後にもちょうどいいあっさりめ仕上がり。ええ、飲んだ後でした。
麺もしっかりと本場仕様になっており、豚骨ラーメンとしての仕上がりはなかなか好みでした。シンプルにスープと麺だけで豚骨欲を満足させるものでしたが、そのせいでチャーシューとメンマに違和感があるのは否めませんでした。特にメンマはあの発酵気味の独特な匂いがこの豚骨には不用にも思えました。
とは言え歌舞伎にはなくてはならないくらいに思える尖り気味の豚骨ラーメンでした。同じく歌舞伎にあるご存知一蘭はインバウンドの影響で常時大行列ですけれど、こちら本格派の豚骨はまだ大丈夫。こっちも24時間営業。
