新宿駅西口より徒歩10分位に立地。丁度、新宿駅南口との中間近くの雑居ビルの７階に
この店はある。エレベーターがかなり混雑していたため、徒歩で上がった。今年は登山を
する機会がなかったためか、息が切れた（反省）
いわゆるバーである。私は今まで1人でこういう類の店に行ったことはないが、ある知
人がこの頃の趣味は「バー巡り」と豪語しており連れて行ってもらったのだった。店に入
るとカウンターとテーブル席が少々。店内は薄暗く、カウンター越しにはバーテンダーが
おり、まさにバーといった感じで面白そう。経験上、私の場合、酒を飲むと偏頭痛を発症
する確率が約60％（酒量にもよる）なのだが、まあいいやと思い飲んだ。
で、飲んだのは「レッド・アイ」「シャンディガフ」というビールをトマトジュースやジ
ンジャーエールで割ったものだが、なかなか美味し。グラスが薄く、泡のキメがクリーミ
ーで細かい仕上がりはなかなか。カクテルでないところが少し笑えるが、雰囲気を味わう
ということでそれはそれでいいだろう。
おつまみには生ハムが登場。どうやら、燻製されたブロックを直接店内で削っているら
しくなかなか本格的。ただ、少し薄く小さいために味わいや風味は弱めか。生ハムに添え
られていた小さいオリーブのような粒上の実の味がはっきりしていて驚いた。その友人を
見ていると、バーというのは酒について注文を出せばできる限り応えてくれるものらしい。
私の場合、リミットは小量なだけに、それでも酒を飲んだという充実感を得られる、かつ
偏頭痛を発症しない位に度数は控えめな酒を望むのだが、さて（無いと思う。コーラでも
飲んでいます）
