★A hideaway bar for adults in Nishi-Shinjuku★
This small bar is located on the 7th floor of a multi-tenant building, a 3-minute walk from the west exit of JR Shinjuku Station. You can enjoy delicious drinks in a relaxed atmosphere. In addition to |
Since Ginza was closed for the Obon holiday week, I was wandering around Shinjuku thinking I should try a new place for a change and found this place. I read an online article about Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) that has inherited Yakisoba (stir-fried noodles) from Wakatsuki, which used to be in Omoide Yokocho, Shinjuku, and I came to Omoide Yokocho, but there were so many foreign tourists that I couldn't find a place. So I was looking for a bar to relax and drink, and I was attracted to the "Up To You" sign, so I went in. I decided to order my first drink with dark rum and soda. The brand is Ron Zacapa. It's an Agricole rum. The bartender asked me if it's unusual to start with a dark rum soda... I told him that I enjoy it at other bars, but I was thinking of a dark rum soda followed by a Vespa Martini. He revealed that this is the order Daniel Craig actually ordered in the 007 series "Casino Royale". However, the brand of rum and soda is "Mount Gay". For my second drink, I heard they had Lillet Blanc, so I ordered a Vespa Martini. Here, we got into a lively conversation about the movie Double O Seven. After that, I ordered a mint julep, which was made with Woodford Reserve, the official Kentucky whiskey. After three glasses, I thought about getting another Islay Twice Up, but this bar is non-smoking. I wanted to enjoy it with whiskey and cigarillos, so I left after three glasses.
