新宿にある「ニューヨーカーズ カフェ」で、ホットドッグセット530円を食べた。西口のエステックビル1Fにあるコーヒースタンド。
ホットドッグにはマスタードとケチャップが格子状にかけてあり、ソーセージの持ち味を優先するかで好き嫌いが分かれるだろう。コッペパンはチンしてあるので温かくて柔らかい。モーニングセットなので皿にサニーレタスも付く。アイスコーヒーはアメリカンタイプで、飲んだ後に微かな苦味を感じる程度。入れてあるグラスが薄いプラスチックなので、チープなところがある。
ホットドッグを作ってくれた女性の店員さんが、「良い一日をお過ごし下さいませ。」と意外な一言をかけてくれたのが、好感があり元気を貰ったようである。
