This is a popular Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) on the floor above my favorite Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) in Shinjuku. It's quietly located on the 7th floor of a multi-tenant building with an arcade on the first floor, but it's crowded with older men and women on Fridays, so I'd been keeping an eye on it for some time. It was a Friday at the end of the fiscal year. I wanted to have a casual drink after overtime, so I declined the company's after-work drinking plan and went there for a private drink with two people. The entire 7th floor is the Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) space, and the spacious interior has many table seats, counter seats, and private rooms, but on this day it was almost full. There are no partitions between the tables, so it's a flat space. It's a popular and lively place, but the clientele is really over 40, with a few younger people here and there. It seems that most of the kids were brought there by older men from their workplace. My companion muttered, "Everyone here is insured for nursing care insurance, including us." I thought that was definitely true. The crowd is on the older side, but perhaps because it's a relaxed Izakaya (Japanese-style bar), it's quite lively. It's not a place for drinking quietly. Therefore, it's best to go with close friends, couples, or close colleagues. 〇 Appetizer (cabbage rolls) It's been a while since I've had a cabbage roll as an appetizer. It's small, but the meat flavor is strong and delicious. 〇 Edamame 〇 Mega Ginger Highball It was a super big size, but it was affordable and recommended when you want to drink cheaply. 〇 Sake Takenozono Junmai Nama Genshu Masu It seems to be a sake from Saga. It was a well-balanced sake with a fruity aroma. It was a sake that would go well with any dish. 〇 Tuna Sashimi Platter The meat was cut thick, and the sashimi had a strong red meat flavor. It was not as good as the sashimi I had at Toyosu Market last week, but it was delicious. 〇 Fried Horse Mackerel It was served with a lot of vegetables, and the horse mackerel was large, so it was filling. It seems to have become a little hard when it cools, so it's best to eat it while it's hot. 〇Vinegared dish dish Vinegared dish containing marinated mackerel, squid, octopus, cucumber, and wakame seaweed. The vinegar taste was mellow and rich, and the ingredients were large and fresh, so I was surprised that this was the most delicious Vinegared dish I ate that day. 〇Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers)〇 Filleted Atka mackerel I didn't have high expectations because it was reasonably priced, but there was surprisingly a lot of meat and a fair amount of fat, so it was satisfying to eat. The fat was delicious. 〇 We ordered eel rolls Other other non-alcoholic drinks, and it came to just over 7,000 yen for two people. I sometimes feel a little intimidated at Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) with a lot of young people, but here there was an atmosphere where I could feel safe and chatty, so I got drunk and stumbled on my way home. It's a popular place, but I personally really liked the atmosphere. I'll be using it again. Thank you for the meal.
