どういう風の吹き回しだったか、新宿でピザでも食べようということになり、割といつもちょこちょこ混んでいるニューマンのピザ屋にでも行ってみようということになりました。800°って、確か初めて（新宿にできる前に）青山（骨董通りのあたり）で見たと思うのだけれど、当時はさっぱりでしたが、最近は多分釜の温度なんだろう、位には思えるようになりました（進歩！）。雨の日でしたが4-5組待ちくらいだったので、入ることができました。
注文してピザにオーダーメイドでネタを乗っけて行ってそれを見ながらお会計という感じで、遊びっけがあるというか、洒落ていると言った感じでしょうか。今風な感じでした。ピザ自体も美味しかったですが、隣のお客さん食べていたポテトフリットも注文したら、かかってきたチーズみたいなソースも、この種の食べ物ではちょっと凝った感じで悪くなさそうでした。
店内は結構女性どうしの客も多く、カップルと女性客で結構な比率になりそうな感じでした。

巷で話題で気になっていて、でも行列は面倒だなと思っていたのですが(あまり並びたくない人)、この日は多少エネルギーあったので少しだけ並びました。
カウンターでトッピングを選びながら右から左へ移動して最後にサイドメニューとドリンクを頼んでお会計、というサブウェイスタイル(勝手に名付ける)。先にメニューを見てある程度選んでおかないと、カウンターでまごまごすると思います。我々は鴨ローストときのこのバルサミコソテーという、なかなか良いチョイスだなと自賛できるビジュアルも良い感じのピザが仕上がりました。
若い人向けという印象の明るいお店で、オシャレだなー、新宿っぽいなー、という感じでした。サイドメニューも凝ってておしゃれだしスパークリングレモネードもとても美味しかったので、ドリンクもいけると思います。
