I went to Koki, located on the first basement floor just after turning down an alley south along Koshu Kaido from Shinjuku South Exit. There are many Chinese Cuisine in this area, making it a lunch battleground. I was having trouble deciding where to go. The menu is extensive, and they also offer lunch sets. I ordered the black fried rice set (900 yen). The rice was quite light and thin, like Thai rice. The portion was surprisingly generous and filling. The seasoning was ordinary, and it felt like everyday Chinese Cuisine. It also came with Chinese soup with wontons and a mini mapo tofu, making it a great value set. If you're looking for affordable Chinese Cuisine in Shinjuku, I think this is a good choice. Apparently their main store is in Yotsuya. Thank you for the meal.
