From the west exit of Shinjuku Station, head towards Kotakibashi, cross the O-Garden intersection, go in the opposite direction of the guardrail, turn into the side street just before the Family Mart, and you'll find Izakaya (Japanese-style bar) on the right. It seems to be mainly for drinking during the day on weekends, but they also serve lunch menus. I visited for the first time on a Sunday after 2pm. There are 6 or 7 tables as soon as you enter the restaurant, a kitchen in the middle, and many more tables at the back, so it's quite deep. The lunch menu includes 6 types of set meals, including the "Fried Chicken Set Meal 680 yen," and curry. The daily special is chicken nanban, so I decided to go with that. A large serving of rice is free. ・Daily Set Meal Chicken Nanban 730 yen You can't smoke at your seat, but there is a small smoking room at the back of the restaurant. I didn't have to wait 10 minutes before my meal was served. It's like a fried chicken set meal with tartar sauce on top. Cabbage and potato salad are served on the same plate, and miso soup is included. Although it's called nanban, it's just fried chicken as it looks, and I think it would have been fine without the tartar sauce. You can pay with PayPay. I thought it might be okay to come for after-party in the evening.
