Visited for the first time with two friends on June 28, 2023. This is a retro Showa-era Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) restaurant located on Sakura Street in Kabukicho that grills yakitori over Bincho charcoal. Even though it's called Showa retro, it opened late last year. It's not a futuristic retro style (like cyberpunk), but a pretty good reproduction of a Showa era Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers). Although the store is long and narrow at the back, using the 1st to 3rd floors is quite a luxury in Kabukicho. It was hot, so I was seated on the second floor. Even though I said Showa, I ordered with my smartphone by reading the QR code on the table, so it was really Reiwa (lol) When my friend scans the same QR code, they can share their order history and calculate the split bill. It's an excellent thing that can be done. The appetizer is macaroni salad. This was strangely delicious (lol). The things I received were Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) (orders start from 2 pieces) and ``Momo'' (1 piece/150 yen) with salt. Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) here is perfectly sized, carefully grilled over binchotan charcoal, and the flavor of the chicken itself is good. ``Shiitake'' (150 yen/piece)...Lightly salted. The pleasant scent of shiitake mushrooms stands out. ``Gizzard'' (150 yen/piece)...Good texture and deep flavor. ``Seseri'' (150 yen/piece)...The meat is full of fat and the texture is very good. `` chicken dish'' (200 yen/piece)...These are huge (lol) They are slowly grilled over charcoal, so the way the meat is juicy is the best. ``Tori liver'' (150 yen/piece)...I got it with the sauce. The liver is well grilled and hard, but the sweet sauce makes it passable. ``Quail eggs'' (1 piece/170 yen)...At a Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) restaurant, I can't help but order this (lol) ``Negima'' (1 piece/150 yen)...It was No. 1 for Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers). delicious! ``Beef skirt steak'' (250 yen/piece)...I think it was a little tough. [Single Dishes/Others] “Tataki Beef Lean Meat” (1000 yen)…Served with ponzu sauce + grated garlic. The meat is thinly sliced, lean, but soft and delicious. ``Negi Salt Gyoza / Dumpling'' (650 yen)... Gyoza / Dumpling topped with white and green onions. Alcohol is a Susumukun snack. “Cheese Ball” (600 yen)…This is surprising. Cream cheese overflows from inside the chewy skin (mochi?) with coconut (?) sprinkled on the surface. Sweet, like Sweets. ``Stir-fried scallops'' (850 yen)...Baby scallops and bean sprouts are stir-fried with butter and soy sauce. delicious! Bean sprouts and scallops are new. I might try making it at home too. ``Beef Kalbi Sushi (4 pieces)'' (990 yen)...I've never encountered delicious meat Sushi at a chain Izakaya (Japanese-style bar), but this one was quite well made. The drinks I received were the ``Beer Ball'' (450 yen) and the ``Lemon Sour at Kojikari Sakaba'' (199 yen)...These prices are available from Monday to Thursday. Error! ``Kaku Highball'' (500 yen) ``Suntory World Whiskey Ao'' (Rock/990 yen) *All prices listed exclude tax. There has been a price revision, and the homepage is the old price. [This is amazing! ] Delicious Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) grilled over charcoal. [That would be nice...] Nothing in particular. Most of the people in the hall were from other countries, but there were other customers besides us from the United States and the Philippines (lol). It was so cool that they were taking orders in English. We felt like we were in Dining Bar in a foreign country (lol). The family sitting next to us from the Philippines was happy to share some fried scallops with us. I believe that Yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) restaurants, a food culture that Japan is proud of, will become increasingly important as a source of inbound demand. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal.
