前の職場の人と2年ぶりに飲もうとあいなり、なんとなくタイ料理。
タイ料理といえば、大久保、新大久保あたりにある店を使いがちだが、集合＆解散のし易さを考え、新宿で探し、コチラをチョイス。
「ガイヤーン・クンミー」
デッカいGAP、高島屋に出る出口から歩いて3分てな具合でアクセス良し。
お店は4月に出来たばかりで、
とても綺麗。
内装はやりすぎない程度にタイの雰囲気があり、上品。
窓際族に相応しく、窓際に案内されたが7Fなので大きなガラスから新宿の様子が見れて、開放感あり。
場所が場所だけに酒の値段は¥600〜、料理は一品¥1,000〜が基本。
料理はさておき、酒は高めなので、3杯は絶対に飲むという人は飲み放題をつけないと、ダメージがデカそう。
勿論、我々は飲み放題にした。
正直、キレイすぎる店内と立地からして料理には期待していたかったのだが、全体的に結構美味しかったのは嬉しい誤算。
あまりタイ料理には明るくないので、基準が低いので、現地至上主義の人からしたら、物足りないとかはありそうだけど、その辺で
「偽物のガパオとパッタイ出しておけばいいや」な店よりは確実に美味いと言える。
厨房はタイ北部出身のご夫婦という事で料理はデフォで普通に辛め、ニンニクばっちり。
タイ式の卵焼きはエビか、豚のひき肉(ひき肉ですっ！！)を選ぶのだが、「ネームにできますか」とお願いしたら、アレンジしてくれる柔軟性もあった。
店名にも冠してあるし、お店のイチオシであるガイヤーンが美味しかった。
骨つき丸鶏の半身はレモングラスやらバイマックルーやら香る甘めの下味が付いていて、しっとり焼き上げられている。
3種類のソースがまたいと旨し。
無糖のレモンサワーをガバガバ飲んで、タイ米を麹に使った芋焼酎「薩摩茶屋」をガブガブ。
50席はあろう広い店内は21時に退店するまで我々の他に女性2人しか入らず、ほぼ貸切り。
ワイガヤな現地系タイ料理もよいけど、落ち着いた空間でという場合に使える便利なお店。
厨房のタイ人ご夫婦は料理をしながら世界を回っているとの事で、
まだ、日本ナイズされてない模様。
