自然薯やとろろを外食で在り付くのはそう簡単でもない。牛タン定食を食べればまず間違いがないが、後はまぐろぶつの丼等数える他なく、居酒屋で山芋の短冊等単品としてはあるが・・・
代々木駅に程近いこの店は、以前から目を付けておいた。麦とろを何か主菜と一緒に組わせた定食を出していることを知っていたので、とある在宅勤務の日に昼食で出向いていった。戸を開けると奥に長い些か暗い照明の昭和の雰囲気の定食やという風情だが悪くない。テーブルにある品書きを見て「麦とろ、日替わり膳」の今日の日替わりは何ですか？ と尋ねるととんかつとの由。とんかつ自体も久しいのでそれを頼んだ。揚げ物が加わるので少し待ったが、立派な内容である。とんかつはとんかつ屋での其れに比すと肉はかなり薄い。が、とんかつ屋での其れのみでの定食が2,000円を超えるものも今や珍しくない中で、麦とろにポテトサラダ他付くのだから、それを半額の1,000円きっかりである。食後の腹の膨れ具合も充分で、夜は軽めで良かろうと思う程のものであった。
麦とろは、とろろの量がもう少し多いとありがたいが、それは望み過ぎかも知れぬ。追加料金を出せば勿論そうなる。
使っているのは三重県の伊勢芋というものらしい。初めて聞いた。「食彩の王国」あたりで取り上げれば知名度も上がるかも知れぬ。其れとも此方が蒙昧なのかで、既に有名なのもかも知れない。
