休日の夜に同僚と珍しく食事をした。同じ建屋の中に起居しているので声を掛ければそうすることは簡単だが、休日は誰しも自分のペースで自分の用向きを過ごしたいだろうから、滅多に声を掛け合い飲みに行くことはない。だが、気の置けない同僚は数少ないもののいるので偶に飲むこともある。それでも精々半年に一度程度だが・・・
1年程前に出来たこのお好み焼き屋は、昼に一度利用したことがあるが、その際はお好み焼き屋にも拘わらず、お好み焼きは時間が掛かるからか提供せず、焼きそばと他という妙な事態だった。予め焼いたものをプラスチックの容器に入れたものをテイクアウト用として店の前で販売している様子だが、今も店内で昼に食べることが出来るのかは不明。
夜に利用したのは初めてになる。上がり座敷の一番左奥に座ったが、かなり狭い。此処に座ると手洗いに行く際には、隣に他の客が座ったその背中を抜けて靴を履いてとなるが、地面とその向こうにあるテーブル席の間が窮屈で靴を其処で屈んで掃くことは物理的に不可能。構造に無理がある。
最初にビールで乾杯をした後、色々、頼んだが焼き物はまあ普通なのだが、この店の飲料は極めて割が悪い。ビールやハイボールの中を頼んだがグラスでこれが小さい。通常なら小のサイズである。又、ウィスキーがけちくさくて水っぽい。それでいて値段は他の店と全く変わらない。総じて、酒の値段が高過ぎる。きちんとしたバーのカクテルや酒なら兎も角、冷やして出すだけのビールや素人でも出来る様な飲料を高い設定にする店は、あまり良心的とは言えない。
締めにお好み焼きを頼んだが、これも、又、とても小さく。出てきた時には半分のサイズかと一瞬思った。ドーム状に丸くこんもりとした形態が普通だろうが、何故か直方体の様なもので、かつお節こそふんだんに掛っているが身が薄く、何か貧相な感じで、美しくもないし味も凡庸である。何か全体的に素人っぽさがかなりある。客層は若い人が圧倒的だが、国立競技場等で観戦をした後に電車に乗る前に立ち寄るのだろうか。結構、夜、遅くまで店をやっている様子である。お好み焼きは大阪育ちだが頻繁に食べるという程でもない。だが、偶に昼間に食べたくなることはある。近隣の店なので美味いと時折出向いたろうが、残念である。
