・Lontong/Rice Cake W Curry ¥950税込
JR山手線新大久保駅から徒歩1,2分のところにあるインドネシア料理屋さん、というかアジアン料理を出す飲み屋さんというか。
決して綺麗とは言い難い駅近、街の雰囲気そのまま。
アパートを飲食店として使っているような雑居建物の三階にあります。
ランチタイムに伺いました。
昼間とはいえ、異国的な雰囲気のボロ建物３階まで行き、かつ、営業しているかいないか分からない雰囲気のお店の扉を開けるのは勇気がいりました。
先客なし、後客もなし。
そりゃぁそうだ、という感じ。
愛想の良い異国人女性が1人で切り盛りしてました。
ランチのメニューは選択肢があまり無い上になかなかイイお値段。
ランチはただ店を開けているだけなのかもしれないですね。
そんな中“Curry”の文字を見つけてそれをオーダーしてみることにしました。
厨房から冷蔵庫から食材を出す音だったり、レンジの音だったりが聞こえて来た後、配膳。
とっても小さい丼のうどんのような感じで料理が単品運ばれてきました。
早速頂きましょう。
［Lontong/Rice Cake W Curry］
“Curry”という文字はありますが、主は「Lontong」であります。
果たしてロントンとは？
お米をバナナの葉に包んで蒸したものらしいです。
が、冷凍していたのか、中にはシャリっと真ん中が凍ったものも…
減点。
凍っていないところを食べた感想でいうと、水分少なくふっくらしていないが柔らかく面白い食感。
粒が小さく、タイ米を炊いたパラパラした感じとも少し違います。
それがサラサラのスープカレーに入っています。
スープカレーの方はココナッツに青唐辛子で辛味をつけたタイのグリーンカレーに似ているのですが、ナンプラーなどの少し酸味とフックのある香りが付き、
更にグリーンカレーでは使わない葉物の野菜や厚揚げ豆腐、米粉のチップスが入っていてタイ料理とは差別化されていました。
ちょっと変わっていてなかなか出会えない味だとは思いましたが、私の口には余り合いませんでした。
しかも量は牛丼チェーン店の丼よりも小さい器に少しだけ入っていて、それだけで950円。
コスパ最悪。
少なくともランチはおすすめできかねます。
メニューの中にガパオライス的なものがあったので食べるならそちらの方が良いかと思いました。
勇気を出して入ったお店でしたが、お気に入りにはなりませんでした。
ユニークな料理が食べれたことが収穫です。
