I had work in Okubo that day. I couldn't come to terms with my client, so I finished my morning work after 1pm. Instead of going back to the office, I went straight to Matsuya Okubo and had a late lunch. I often go to Matsuya out of the nationwide chain of Gyudon (Beef bowl) restaurants (Yoshinoya, Matsuya, Sukiya, Nakau), but I like Yoshinoya's Gyudon (Beef bowl) the best. The reason I go to Matsuya is because miso soup is included when you eat in the restaurant. I think this is a big deal for a common man. ・Beef bowl (large) 560 yen I was pretty hungry, so I ordered a large bowl. I had the usual beef bowl in a large bowl, with pickled ginger and shichimi sprinkled on top. The hearty meat and soft onions are also Matsuya's characteristics. The beef and onions with sweet and salty sauce have a classic taste. The miso soup with fried tofu and seaweed is quite ordinary. Now that I'm full, I'll work hard in the afternoon.
