3 minutes walk from Okubo Station. Authentic charcoal grilled dishes are delicious.
It's a 3-minute walk from Shin-Okubo Station along Okubo Street towards JR Okubo Station! The taste of carefully selected ingredients grilled over charcoal is exquisite♪ The menu has also been renewed |
I visited Chinese Cuisine restaurant "Joukaen" for the first time on a weekday afternoon. It is located 5 minutes east from Shin-Okubo Station or Okubo Station on Okubo-dori, just before the intersection with Otakibashi-dori. It is located on the first basement floor of a building, and you go down a staircase with a seedy atmosphere from a slightly dimly lit corridor. When you enter the restaurant, it is also a little dim. There are many table seats and it seems that it can accommodate 30 people. There was only one other group of customers. There is a set menu, and most of the dishes are priced from 780 yen to 980 yen, including mapo tofu. I was interested in crab meat fried rice, but this was my first time, so I went for the safe "Green Pepper Pork Set Meal 880 yen". While I was waiting, there were loud ringtones and Chinese announcements ringing, probably for delivery orders. It took about 10 minutes to get the food. The rice was a large portion from the start, and it came with kimchi, soup, and almond tofu. I tried it right away and the seasoning was just right to eat the rice. The rice was of the usual quality for a Chinese Cuisine. I started to get a little bored with it, but I managed to finish it by adding some kimchi. Payment is cash only.
