Lunch at Newar Kaja Set in Okubo was quite an experience. I arrived in Shinjuku in the early afternoon and walked toward Okubo looking for a lunch spot, but there were always lines of people everywhere. Meanwhile, I found this underground hideaway-like store. Even when I got to the front of the store, I had no idea what it looked like from the outside. But as someone who has recently fallen in love with Innepa cuisine, I can't pass it up. I mustered up some courage and decided to go in. There were no other customers in the restaurant, so I was a little nervous at first, but when I looked at the menu and saw that they had dal bhat, I immediately felt better. I ordered rose and potato sadico, stir-fried mixed offal, fried black-eyed beans, mutton choira, egg and black beans with spices, and rice flakes. All of them had a fresh taste, and I couldn't help but smile. I also tried kukri rum, and it tasted good too. I felt so happy to be able to enjoy the crunchy texture while enjoying the meal. If this store was near my work, I would definitely go there twice a week. Well, to be honest, the store has a nice hidden feel to it, and it's a special feeling when you find a hidden gem like this. I would like to try a different menu next time.
