[1 minute from Okubo Station] Enjoy authentic Nepalese Cuisine and great value lunches ♪ Private party venue reserved for up to 70 people ◎
We offer authentic Nepalese Cuisine such as the Nepalese Okonomiyaki "Chatamari" that gives the restaurant its name, the Niwari dish "Mixed Tandoori Grill", and hearty and affordable lunches. The rest |
I had dinner at a Nepalese Cuisine restaurant on Kotakibashi Street. I ordered a curry set for 1150 yen (tax included, same below), panipuri for 550 yen, and lassi for 350 yen, for a total of 2050 yen. When I was finishing my meal, dessert was served for free. I could choose mutton curry, which was perfect for me as I like mutton, but the curry and naan were very ordinary and came with only a small amount of raw vegetables (no dressing), so I thought the price was a little high. 550 yen for six panipuris was expensive compared to other restaurants, and the sauce was not very spicy but quite salty, which surprised me. The lassi was a very thin "drinkable yogurt". I was happy that they served me dessert, but it was gulab jamun, which was a problem because I don't like very sweet things. I felt bad not to touch it since they offered it to me, so I tried it, and it was a little less sweet than I expected, so I managed to eat it, but I don't think there are many Japanese people who like it. After eating, I drank lassi and it just felt like "thin milk". It was after 5pm on a weekday and there were no customers either before or after us. The restaurant is spacious and looks like it could fit around 40 people. The woman in charge of the dining area was sitting there looking lost. An Indian movie (I think) was playing on the monitor so it would be good for parties. It's clean, bright and the menu is easy to understand, so it's easy for Japanese people to go in. The price is the only thing that would stop me from returning. I wasn't expecting to pay over 2000 yen for what I had, so I was surprised. (Although maybe Nepalese Cuisine I usually eat at other restaurants around Okubo is too cheap.) If I go again, I'd like to try something other than curry.
