連休の中日に焼肉を食べに池袋のやざわへ。良さげな店があもんくらいしかないと思っていたけれど、尾崎牛の取扱店を発見。東口を出て明治通りを下りジュンク堂の向かいにあるビルの地下一階。
なんでも平日は朝の４時までやっているというある種貴重な焼肉屋へ開店時間に予約。
店内は通路が狭く部屋がいくつかのブロックに分かれており、少し不思議な間取りとなっている。通されたのは一番奥の部屋でテーブル席が２卓。やや閉塞感があるものの排煙処理はきちんとなされているので煙くなることはない。
尾崎牛は17年に渋谷のいのうえ、18年に銀座のひむかで食して以来。月に30頭ほどしか出荷されないので中々遭遇することができない。
１杯目はギネス。グラスはプレモル用。ビールはその他マスターズドリームとプレモルがある。
お通しは牛すじ。
写真を撮り忘れたがキムチは６種類用意されており、盛り合わせはその中から３種類を選ぶことができる。がどうしても白菜、カクテキ、オイキムチを選んでしまう。たまに変り種のキムチを頼むこともあるが、ことごとく外れているので最近はあまり冒険しない。
肉は和牛特上タン塩から。ネギタン塩も惹かれたがどうしても値段の高い方を選んでしまう。
和牛ざぶとん炙り寿司。ザブトンをその場で炙ってシャリの上に紫蘇を挟んで載せてくれる。
メインの尾崎牛３種盛り。この日は上ロース、とうがし、ざぶとん。一番好きなのは脂が多すぎず肉の味が楽しめるとうがらし。
続いて好物のいちぼ。これは残念ながら尾崎牛ではない。
尾崎牛で用意されているのは上ロース、肩ロース、ざぶとん、とうがらし、ミスジのみ。
塩ユッケ軍艦巻き。握り方がいまいちなのはご愛嬌。
最後にもう一枚頼もうと思案。シャトーブリアンにも惹かれたものの、それほど高くない価格で提供されているので逆に不安となってしまい、尾崎牛のミスジを注文。
ちなみに、ドリンクで面白いものを発見。肉専用サワーのジントニ。
正体はジントニックにレモンとブラックペッパーを加えたもの。どうやらビーフィーターが仕掛けているらしく専用グラスまで用意されている。ギネスのグラスはなかったのに。とはいえ意外と美味しい。元々学生時代はビーフィーターが好物だったこともあり、お代わりしてしまう。柑橘系の酸味とジン、トニックの香りに胡椒がよく合っている。
