I had a solo lunch during a break from work. This local Chinese restaurant is located on the third floor of a multi-tenant building, a seven or eight minute walk from the east exit of Ikebukuro Station, one block away from Sunshine Street. This restaurant is known for its quantity and quality, and is as popular as its flagship store on the west exit, with queues at lunchtime. I visited around 11:40 on a Friday. I left a little early, so the restaurant was quiet with only three groups of ten people. I was shown to a four-person table and immediately chose my menu. Ordering is done using the touch panel. There were so many different types of lunch sets that I was undecided, but I wanted to try their famous iron pot Gyoza / Dumpling, so I ordered a set with fried rice for 880 yen. There is free wifi, and smoking is allowed at all seats, so I personally feel that it is the best. Chinese was being spoken noisily in the kitchen, and as it approached noon, several groups of workers from the neighborhood arrived, making the place even more lively. I can't say that the atmosphere is calm, but it's perfect for lunch on busy days, and it's definitely a restaurant for that kind of person. The bowl arrived in about 10 minutes. The crispy gyoza Gyoza / Dumpling have a chewy skin and are stuffed with filling. The garlic is so strong that you won't even notice the end result, and it's very satisfying to eat. The fried rice is light, with mixed vegetables and chopped roast pork, and is well balanced with the strong flavor of Gyoza / Dumpling. You can help yourself to the soup and almond tofu. I only had the almond tofu, which was very gelatinous and bouncy. I think I would prefer it a little harder. The quantity and quality were both decent, and at this price, it's sure to be a useful lunch. I'll come back if I want a quick Chinese meal. Thank you for the meal♪
