2023年1月某日の11時過ぎに訪ねた。
池袋駅を出てすぐの西武池袋の8階にある蕎麦店「明月庵 ぎんざ田中屋 西武池袋店」。
程好い広さの店内には先客7,8名ほど。
テーブル席に1人で座り、メニューを眺めてから「ミニ天丼・蕎麦セット」¥2,000を注文する。蕎麦はせいろでリクエストした。
12,3分ほど待って料理が提供される。
海老、イカ、ナス、しし唐の天ぷらが乗ったミニ天丼、せいろ、小鉢料理、漬物、デザートの組み合わせ。
まずはせいろの蕎麦をつゆに浸して食べてみる。蕎麦の香りがしっかりと感じられる。つゆもカエシが効いて力強い蕎麦に負けていない。わさびも爽やかな後味で良い塩梅。
ミニ天丼にはタレを自らかけて食べるスタイル。具材の旨味を感じながら天丼を満喫する。海老のサイズ感が良い。
小鉢には青菜、きのこ、揚げのお浸し。天丼と蕎麦の合間に食べるには良い存在。
せいろもミニ天丼もボリューム的には物足りなさがある。しっかり味わう前に食べ切ってしまったという印象。
デザートの柚子ゼリーを味わい、そば湯でつゆを割って〆る。
百貨店の中にある蕎麦の店ということもあって、居心地は良いが値段は高い「明月庵 ぎんざ田中屋」。ゆっくり食事をしたい時にはオススメ出来るが、しっかり食事がしたい時にはあまりオススメは出来ない。
