いろいろ思うトコロがあった、東南アジアンエスニック。
まず、店名の「dua」の表記。
何故にソコだけ？の思いは拭い去れない。
ガード利用控えに書かれているように「マレーチャン ツー」で問題ないだろう。
どうしてもマレーシア読みがしたいなら「マレーチャン ドゥア」とか書けばイイ。
次に、「インドネシア料理」というジャンルの登録。
ホームページや、その店名や、どう考えても「マレーシア料理」で差し支えないだろう。
お店の方が仮にインドネシアに近いマレーシア料理限定店だと強く意識づけしたいなら別だが。
地元の池袋西口の「マレーチャン」には、過去にも何度か連れられて訪問している。
僕自身は、あまり詳しくはないのだが、棲家の近くには中華料理・韓国料理店に続き、タイ料理・ベトナム料理の店は比較的多いので、東南アジアの料理の一つとしてひっくるめて消化している。
さて、この店、東池袋駅の近くである。
隣のパン屋、「ブランジェ ミフネ」には、昨年世話になった。
パン屋の片隅のイートイン席で店内飲食をさせてもらった思い出がある。
この店は初めてだが、何となく西口の「マレーチャン」のイメージのまま訪問した。
「トムヤム麺」(1,320円)＋「サティ」(500円)＋「グアバジュース」(460円) ーー 写真の通り。
トムヤム麺、パクチー抜きでお願いした。
マレーシアのトムヤムスープの基本を知らない人間なので感覚的なコトしか言えないが、タイ料理店などで今まで食べてきたモノよりも、アッサリしている印象。
悪く言えばコクや深みが無い感じ。
ナムコン・ナムサイの区別とも違い、フルーティーと言うか、何かが際立っている。
レモングラスと唐辛子は十分に感じられるのだが、見た目にはトマト量がかなり多いので、その味わいに引っ張られている感じか。
あと、具材としては、トマトの他に、玉ネギやピーマン・パプリカ系のモノも多い印象。
普通に美味しいスープなのだが、今まで経験した中では、ちょっと物足りない雰囲気があった。
麺は、チープな感じで、ところどころダマになっていたりして、やや残念。
エビは、そこそこな大きさだが、味は今ひとつ。
サティ、西口店でもこんな感じだっただろうか？
見た目は同じように感じるが、焼きの香ばしさなどは微塵もなく、レンチン的な仕上がり。
ちょっとダメだった。
素人なので、元来的にそういうモノだとしたら、お許し願いたい。
グアバジュースをともに、ひとときを過ごした。
ごちそうさまでした。
全体的な印象としては、不味くはないが、料理の表情や味わいのバランスが、簡易的なファストフードのような気がしてしまう部分が拭い去れなかった。
また機会があれば、直近で訪問していない西口店の方へも行って、比較してみたい。
