I think there are still not many restaurants in Japan that serve Bak Kut Teh. I have not been to Malaysia or Singapore yet, but it seems to be a common soul food there. I personally think that Bak Kut Teh is a wonderful dish, and I would like to write this comment with the hope that it will become more popular in Japan if possible. I have visited this restaurant several times, and I always order the Bak Kut Teh set meal. At 1,350 yen, it is a little expensive for an office worker, but it is worth it. It is delicious, hearty, and filling, and it is full of nutrition and makes you feel happy. In a soy sauce-based soup, bone-in spare ribs are stewed until they are tender in a single-serving pot. Although it is on the bone, the meat becomes quite soft and can be easily peeled off with chopsticks. It also contains enoki mushrooms and something like fried tofu, which adds a little accent. A small dish of spicy sauce for Bak Kut Teh is served with it, but first, you should taste the meat with just the basic soup without it, and eat it with rice. The slight scent of star anise makes you feel that it is a dish invented by overseas Chinese. And I like the strong garlic flavor. However, this alone is a little unsatisfying, so I pick up the meat with chopsticks and dip it in the bak kut teh sauce that comes with it. The slightly spicy sauce changes the atmosphere of the dish dramatically. It goes from a slightly mild dish to a hot, spicy dish with an Asian feel. It's a real game changer. Once I've finished 70% of the ingredients and eaten more than half the rice, the game changes again! I put the remaining rice into the bak kut teh pot and add the bak kut teh sauce. Bak kut teh porridge. Garlic, soy sauce, chili pepper, and a little star anise. I eat the rice soaked in the soup with the remaining meat with a spoon. It has already changed to a completely different atmosphere from when I first started eating, and it doesn't get boring at all. It's a masterpiece that I sometimes want to eat. In addition, it comes with a salad, which has a somewhat Indonesian feel to it and is interesting. They also have other dishes like gapao rice and nasi goreng, so I'd like to try those next time.
