池袋でビールとなると以前はビアパブカムデン西口店に伺っていましたが、お店が少し狭くこのご時世なのでもう少し広いお店がいいので行くことがなくなってしまいました。その代わり最近池袋で飲むのなら西口店でなく、東口店に良くいくように。この日も東口店に行こうと思いましたが、街に人が多く、行く気が失せ歩いているところ、ここを思い出し再訪問。
キャッシュオンリーなのでそこがややネックですが以前伺った際の印象は良さげ。
19時頃伺うと間隔を空けお客さんが座っておりカウンターに空きがあり、早速入店。
とりあえず【ヘイジーIPA スノーモンキー/志賀高原】のパイントをオーダー。
泡が非常にきめ細か。なので炭酸も細かい感じで爽快感。
最初にお茶のような苦味。香りはマンゴーにやや酸味を加えたような香り。
そして香りとは裏腹に意外とドライ。
ポテトなどを食べているとL.Oの時間が来てしまい、せっかくなので普段頼まないようなビール4種の飲み比べをオーダー。
頼んだものは下記の通り。
グラスの下にある紙に親切にタップ番号が記載されてます。
ひし形で見てみると左が【アールグレイ/城端麦酒(富山)】、上が【アンダーグロース/Basqueland Brewing(Spain)】、右の泡が多いものは【ミルクスタウトナイトロ/Left Hand Brewing(Colorado)】、そして下にあるものは【インペリアルマキアート/Wylam Brewery(England)】
色が薄いものから飲んだ方が良さそうだが、
後味がこってりしたものよりもスキっとしたものを飲んでお店を出たいので、
ここは敢えて【ミルクスタウトナイトロ/Left Hand Brewing(Colorado)】から飲むことに。
スタイルはMilk Stout。香りはほろ苦いコーヒーのような感じと赤味噌のような香りがやや。
説明では《ローストしたモルトによりコーヒーフレーバーを生み出している》とのこと。
飲んでみると、何となく昔懐かしいコーヒーゼリーのような味わい。
泡は非常にきめ細かで、それによりコーヒーミルクのようなまろやかさになっている。
最後の最後に残った泡はとてもマイルドだった。
次に、【インペリアルマキアート/Wylam Brewery(England)】スタイルはImperial Poter。
まさに漆黒のような黒。香りは非常にコーヒーwww
そしてやや石のような乾いた香りを感じも。そして、その奥にややオイリーな感じもあり、ナッツ類を想像させる。
説明は《コーヒーにヘーゼルナッツとカカオを加えたインペリアルポーター》とのこと。
続いて、【アンダーグロース/Basqueland Brewing(Spain)】スタイルはHazyIPA。
こちらの説明は《メロンやライチのようなトロピカル感に、程よく松脂のようなニュアンスが感じる》とのこと。よくパイニーや松脂という松の香りが出てくるが正直この「松」とあまり縁がないので、そろそろ松にまつわる香りを自身にインプットしないといけない(⌐■_■)
早速頂くと、こんな言い方は雑すぎるが、よくあるホップのグレープフルーツさとライチのような香りｗこちらは泡は弱く、グレープフルーツジュースに炭酸を入れたような感じの味わい。
Hazyなので濁りのある色合い。
最後に【アールグレイ/城端麦酒(富山)】を。こちらのスタイルはHerb Spice Ale。
説明は《アールグレイを使ったベルモットの香りのエールビール》
アールグレイの香りがぶわっと。アルコールも５％と非常に飲みやすく、砂糖を加えたアールグレイティーのような味わい。
閉店の時間が近づいてきたのでここでお会計。
普段注文しないスタイルのビールを飲むのもたまにはいいな。
