Shikika Ikebukuro Shinkan is a serious Chinese restaurant in Ikebukuro. It is located in the Ikebukuro West Exit area, where there are many serious Chinese restaurants, and is a 2-3 minute walk from the West Exit (north). About 10 meters to the right is Shikika Ikebukuro Main Building. I went to the main building before, so I went to the new building. The lunch menu changes every day of the week and has 12 types. By the way, lunch at the main building also changes on different days of the week, but the contents are completely different. There are about 9 tables inside, and compared to the main building, there are no decorations and it looks plain. Like most Chinese restaurants, you order from a tablet on the table, but the lunch menu has no photos and is only in Chinese. "Simmered white fish with pickled vegetables" 1,080 yen It may depend on the menu, but it takes about 15 minutes to be served. A large plate of stewed white fish sanra, rice, soup, and 2 side dishes. On a large plate, there was a yellow curry-like soup with white fish, mustard greens, chili peppers, garlic, and Japanese pepper. Although it is called ``Sanra Stew,'' ``Saucai Fish'' is Szechuan Cuisine that is officially called ``Fish Stew with Mustard Vegetables.'' The white fish is smooth and jiggly. Even if you eat the fish on its own, you can feel the sourness and the sharpness of the Japanese pepper, making it delicious. The mustard greens are fully pickled and have a unique flavor. When eaten with white fish, mustard greens, and soup, it has a spicy and rich flavor that goes well with the rice. It contains not only mustard greens but also plenty of white fish, making it a satisfying meal. It doesn't feel cheap at all considering the price, and it's a very decent dish. I can't say anything because I'm comparing the same menu, but I like it better than the spare ribs I had at the main restaurant. After all, the authentic Chinese food at the west exit of Ikebukuro is delicious and interesting.
