GW祝日ランチタイムの来訪。池袋西口に昨年できたカリフォルニアスタイルのメキシコ料理店「Smash」さんでタコスを食べに来ました。お店は駅から少し歩いた公園沿いにありました。外は閑散としており店内も空いており、すぐカウンター席に案内されました。
オーダーは、カルニタス(豚肉)とシーフードのタコスです。APPETIZERも頼みたかったのですが、メニュー表の内容と写真が結びづかず、ソフトドリンクのみ追加しました。ちょっとメニューブックは分かりにくい感じがします。
10分以上かけて調理されてタコスが提供されます。
当店のタコスはカルニタス(豚肉)もシーフードもお肉が主体で、よくあるメキシカンタコスの印象と少し違った見た目になっています。カルニタスはホロホロに煮込まれた豚肉の独特の美味しさが印象的で、シーフードは海老・タコがふんだんに入ってなかなかゴージャスです。特にシーフードはこぼれそうなほどのオイルが敷かれておりグルメ系の味付けですが、辛さは全くありません。
タコスは他にもフィッシュ、ポヨアサド(鶏肉）、カルネアサダ(牛肉）などがあり、平日ランチタイムには3個のセットもある模様。1個1個もそんなに重くないのでいろんな種類のお肉のタコスを食べ比べるのも面白いかもしれません。料理も店内も少し独特の感じがあり、なかなか興味深かったです。ごちそうさまでした。
