One day, I walked from Iidabashi to Takadanobaba. This is the revenge route for Yasubei Horibe from Ako Ronin. It is said that Yasube Horibe (or Yasube Nakayama at the time of revenge) ran down Natsume-zaka and grabbed a drink at the liquor store at the bottom of the slope before heading to the duel. It is said that the sake cup that Yasubei Horibe drank at that time still remains. Even if you're not Yasubei Horibe, walking that long will make you thirsty. In my case, I stopped by this store to get a beer when I was around Baba. According to my reviewer Ca va, I heard that this place has a wide variety of imported beers. Plus, they also have my favorite Czech beer. Now, let's have a glass of Pilsner Urquell from the Czech Republic. Beautiful golden color when poured into a glass. Although it is light to drink, it has a rich and refreshing hop bitterness. A cup of beer with a deep flavor. A beer with a flavor that goes down your throat and is perfect for quenching your thirst. Next is Badvar, Czech Republic. Same golden beer. This one might have a slightly richer hop flavor. This is a beer with a slightly bitter taste and a full-bodied flavor. Nachos for snacks. Baked tortilla chips topped with tomato sauce and cheese. It's useful as a light snack. There are only two types of Czech beer, so next up is the dark beer series. First, the staff recommended a Sri Lankan dark beer. A very dark beer with a sweet taste. It's a full-bodied beer that's easy to drink. Next up is British dark beer. It is quite elegant compared to Sri Lankan beer. Compared to Sri Lankan beer which has a solid base, it has a somewhat superficial feel, perhaps due to the preference of the government. I should have stopped there, but I got into a lively conversation with the staff and was forced to go for another one. A Portuguese dark beer. This has just the right amount of richness. Although it was black, it had a smooth cutting edge. The staff member at the counter who offered me various beers was apparently from Nepal. That the Ganges River originates from Nepal, that it is influenced by Tibetan Buddhism, that most of the land in the country is above 3,000 meters above sea level, that momo is a Nepali dish and not Indian Cuisine, that we eat yak meat. I can't seem to run out of things to talk about. Listening to stories from different cultures is always fun and full of new discoveries. Perhaps because of this staff, the Takadanobaba store sometimes serves Nepali curry and momos. Unfortunately, they said they weren't ready that day, but next time I go, I'd like to go on a day when they have momos and Nepali curry.
