高田馬場駅ら歩いて5分ほど、早稲田通りを早稲田方面に進み、TSUTAYAの角を左に曲がってとんかつひなたを過ぎた右手にある「地球を旅するCAFE」。平日の12時過ぎに初訪問。
表の看板にはsince2014とあるのでほぼ10年ここにあり、朝9:00〜17:00の昼営業のみで月火が定休日。店内は木の温もりを感じ天井も高く開放的、テーブル席とカウンター3席。
お昼どきなこともあり店内はほぼ満席、バイトらしき店員さんが数名で手際よく客捌きをしている。先注文・先会計、軽めのランチと思ってたので、サンドイッチにしてみる。
・ハム＆チーズサンドイッチ 660円
・カフェラテアイス 620円
サンドはタイソーセージもあり、ほかにもキッシュがある。お支払いにはPayPayが使える。キャッシュレスを推奨している。レジ横の棚のマフィンやスコーンがとっても美味しそう。
カウンターに腰掛け店内見渡していると、外国のインテリアがいっぱいで外国感もある。お茶だけの人はメープルシナモンラテをよく頼んでいる。待つこと丁度10分で提供あり。
大きめのカリッカリによーく焼かれたパンにハムやチーズ、ピクルスが顔を覗かす。さっそくかぶりついてみると、外パリの中は小麦感のする美味しいパン。神楽坂の有名パン店のパンらしい。
ハムとチーズの塩気、ピクルスの酸味と食感味覚で楽しめるサンドイッチだった。カフェラテも美味しい一杯で決して安くはないけど、満足いく昼食となった。
また今度はメイプルシナモンラテとスコーンやマフィンを食べに来てみよう。
