界隈、生ける伝説BLAKES(Ghee)を筆頭にカリーアップ、モクバザ、ヨゴロウ、ヘンドリクスなどなど名だたる人気カレー屋店が軒を連ねているが、カフェランチ的なカレーで埋もれているものはないかなと、散策。
原宿通り。
少し行けば、スープカレーのシャンティ
(破産して給料をインド人に払わないほうじゃないほうのシャンティ)がある。
立て看板が幾つか建てられており、
目論見通り、パスタやタコライスなどの典型的カフェ飯の中にカレーの文字が多い。
その中で、「熟成ブラックカレー」なるメニューが気になり、店に向かって細い道を行く。
ヴェスパが軒先に止まった、可愛らしいお店。
ギャラリーも兼ねているようで、値段の書かれた作家の絵画が壁に所狭しとかけられている。
ベレー帽を被ったこれまたオサレな初老の男性にカレーをお願いした。
そう時間も掛からず、提供されたそれは確かに黒い、ブラックカレー。
因みに、熟成は肉にかかっている言葉。
熟成肉を使用しているとの事。
その姿は殆ど見えないくらい煮込まれてしまっているが、旨味たっぷり。
深い味だ。
欧風カレーは経験値が少なすぎて、よくわからないが家のカレーとは違う、確かにお店で頂いて納得の味。
これで、ランチタイムはコーヒーがついて、
¥600だから、文句は言えまい。
特にこの辺の相場を考えれば尚更。
ちょっとポーションがおさえめで、
トッピングにハンバーグ¥250、からあげ２つ¥150、チーズ¥100とあるが、
折角なら熟成肉のステーキでもあれば、
より、熟成カレーとしてのインパクトが増すのかなと素人考え。

帰り道に、橋幸夫とすれ違ったが僕しか気づいていなかった。
昔、清水アキラがモノマネ王座決定戦で水着を着て、うきわをつけて、メキシカンロック、アゴーゴーと歌っていたのを思い出した。
