西麻布交差点の近くにある蕎麦屋『千利庵』へ。
創業1988年、バブル景気の真っ只中にオープン。そんな残り香を全く感じさせぬ、落ち着いた空間になっております。若い頃、この辺りでは良く遊んだが、全然その存在を知りませんでした。きっと人は見たいものしか見えないのでしょう。不惑を超えてようやく、そこにあり続ける価値に気づく事ができたのかもしれません。
そんな千利庵の名物は「天下ごめん」
ベースは鴨汁。鴨出汁のつけ汁の中には、鴨肉、牛蒡、ししとう、茄子など。動物性の旨味がたっぷり含んでおり、ジャンキーな幸福感を与えてくれます。特にこの恩恵を茄子がダイレクトに受けており、肉と同等の満足感を作り上げます。鴨肉などはかなり小さめなシルエットながら、その弾力が味をビビッドなものに。そう、鴨の旨味たっぷりのつけ汁なのです。蕎麦は適度なコシが感じられる細切り。強さのあるつけ汁との相性もいい。
天下ごめんとは、”はばかることなく堂々と振る舞える”という意味。西麻布という大人の遊び場にあっても、ぶれること無く営業を続ける蕎麦店。うん、やっぱりこういうブレない姿勢は価値がある。
