コンクリートの打ちっ放しの階段を降り、彫刻が施された重い木の扉を開けると、そこは宮下の世界。柔らかい暖色の照明が、厨房を囲む大きなカウンターを照らす静かな店内。とても雰囲気の良い、落ち着く空間だ。
4人で来店し、壁際の無垢材のテーブルに座った。壁に向かってコの字に座る面白い席の配置。木のテーブルが大きく彫りこまれ、そこに花が生けてあるのが斬新。
料理は如月のコース¥8,000。

上品な和食には違いないのだけれど、どうもあまり印象に残らないなあ。
椀物は、関西風の薄味を何となく期待していたので、いきなり結構しょっぱくて、おっとびっくり。前菜は綺麗で見た目楽しいのだが、どうにもみな一口サイズで小さくて、ゆっくり味わうほどの量がない。お造りも然りだし、金目の旨みが菜の花の苦味とは合わない気がする。少なめの前菜類で、そろそろ盛り上がるかと思われた、焼物、煮物ともにクライマックス感がないまま、もう食事?という展開。デザートのかるかんは美味しかったけど。
生ビールの後、白、赤のワインを合わせたが、料理のおとなしさがワインに負けてしまったようだ。辛口の日本酒なんかを合わせた方がよいのかもしれない。雰囲気はとてもよいので、静かに食事とお酒を楽しむには最高な店構えだけに、料理の物足りなさが余計にクローズアップされてしまう気がする。
