麻布十番のちょっと奥まった場所で、昔は有名な「かどわき」があった場所にあるお店だ。上司の送別会に利用させて頂いた。まだミシュランで星がつくだいぶ前の話である。
外観からはとてもミシュランで星がついたとは思えない感じ。街の小料理屋のような佇まいだ。
店内は暗めの照明でこじんまりとしている。カウンターもあるようだが、我々は個室を利用させて頂いた。
鮨と日本料理を両方頂けるという話であり、楽しみにコースを頂いた。
コースを頂いた後の我々が抱いた印象は、「どっちつかず」というところだ。
鮨も他の一品料理も水準以上に美味しいと思われるのだが、鮨だけみれば他に美味しい店は同じ値段であると思うし、純粋に日本料理の観点から見ても、他に同様の値段でもっと美味しいところはあると思う。
御主人のコンセプトとしては鮨だけではなく、他のもっと広い世界で調理をしたいという気持ちがあるのだろうが、我々が訪問した段階ではまだうまく行っていないように感じられた。今どうなっているかはわからないが・・・。
毛ガニの甲羅焼きがネットでは評価が高いようだが、我々が訪れた時は、この料理が一番生臭さが残っており首を傾げた一品だった。
もう少し時間が経ってから再訪してみたい。
