店名のカーベーケージは
ケーキ（Kuchenクーヘン）の頭文字「K」、
パンの頭文字（Brotブロート）「B」、
初代店主齊藤敬二氏の「ケイジ」から命名。
1972年白金で創業、
赤坂の今の地に移って26年。
齊藤敬二氏は、
伝説の名店、神戸フロインドリーブに10年、
その後ドイツに渡って5年修業したのち、
帰国し、敷島製パン(パスコ)で技術指導をし、
カーベーケージを開業。
現在の店主は齊藤幸司氏、
今年で創業51年のドイツパンの老舗である。
店内に入ると既にクリスマスモード、
シュトーレンが幾つも
クリスマスカラーに包装され
積みあがっている。
ショーケースからトレイにのせたのは
「サンドウィッチ」（432円）
「ソフトウインナー」（195円）
「クリームチーズシュニッテン」（205円）
支払いは現金のみ。
168円のお釣りが戻って来た。
（涙）1円玉・5円玉が小銭入れにあるのが嫌なのだｗ
マダムは話すと結構気さく。
折角なのでオープンエアでいただく。
ミックスサンドは
ポテサラ
胡瓜チーズ
ツナ
クリームチーズ
ハムトマト
タマサラ
と6種の豪華版。
食パンはドイツパンで
素朴で質実な感じ。
ライ麦パンもあるが、酸味はさほど強くはない。
具を色々楽しめるのは嬉しい。
これだけで一食分にもなる。
ソフトウインナーは
白胡麻が振られたパンの中に
ウィンナーソーセージ、
パンはプレーンでこちらも素朴で質実、
ソーセージはプチッといい音。
クリームチーズシュニッテンは
日本で云うとクリームパン、
クリームチーズを使ってるので
甘さは控えめだが菓子パンは菓子パン、
生地はしっとりした感じ。
美味しくいただいた。
