国会図書館に行く。調べものの合間に、喫茶のフェリカに行く。確かここには、大きなパフェがあったはずと思って行ったが、メニュー上からは発見できない。ずいぶん前の話なので諦めて、コーヒーを頼むこととする。フレンチプレスなるものがある。なるほど、ドリップではなくガラスのプレス機で上澄みを濾すタイプである。二杯分とれて370円なので頼んでみた。プレス前のものが出てきて、砂時計が置かれる。砂時計が落ちたら濾してくださいとのことである。なかなか面白いシチュエーションである。実際にやってみると、プレス式独特の粉っぽさは残るが、なかなかいける味である。プレスにしてはコーヒーの香りなども残っており、面倒だがいろいろやってみる楽しさとともに、たっぷり飲めるお得感もある。抹茶パフェではなかったが満足であった。
