Shuzenbo is a Szechuan Cuisine restaurant in Akasakamitsuke, Tokyo. I got dumped once, so I went here because it was nearby. There are really many Chinese restaurants in Akasaka. I'm glad that it's a city where mapo tofu can be upgraded. I was alone but sat at a spacious table. I chose mapo tofu for the lunch set meal. Of course, I ordered it with "great spicy".・Mabo tofu 980 yen Mapo tofu, rice, pressed greens, pickles, soup, almond tofu. I think 980 yen for all of this is quite cheap. The mapo tofu, which is made with a blend of over 28 spices, certainly has a rich aroma and depth, but the salty taste is mild and it's a bit unsatisfying to eat with rice. Is tofu silken tofu? It's melty. Mapo itself has no sweetness from miso or other ingredients, and has a nice balance between the numbing aroma of Japanese pepper and the spiciness.
