溜池山王店に行ったカミさんから強烈に勧められ、近くの仕事ついでに霞が関店へ。11時半頃には既に行列。ここでようやく店名の読み方が「いわえん」ということを知る。「せきわえん」だと思ってた。
建物内に飲食店は他にもあるが、行列はここだけ。長くなるとU字になることも。この日は30分弱待ったが、店員さんがグループ客ごとの人数を確認して回り、効率的に店内に案内している様子。
行列最後尾に写真のメニュー看板が立っていたが、入口には別のランチメニュー。どれも捨て難いが、海老・蟹オールスターに惹かれて、ブロッコリー餡かけ（1250円）を注文。
料理の前に、お櫃ご飯、ザーサイ、スープ、お茶が運ばれてくる。お櫃には小碗山盛2杯程度のご飯が入り、お茶同様にお代わり自由。ザーサイは辛すぎず、スープは卵が入ってお吸い物のような優しい味。
ブロッコリー餡かけは、プリプリのエビと大きめブロッコリーがゴロゴロ。餡かけにはカニのむき身と卵の白身、細かく刻んだエノキダケ。ブロッコリーは熱々で舌を火傷するほど。薄めだが飽きの来ない絶妙な味付けで、中華というより和食に近い印象。
それから、ご飯もツヤがあって非常に美味しい。街の中華料理店だと炊き方がなってないところも多いが、ここはご飯単品で食べても美味しいレベル。
接客面では少し愛想がないかなと感じたが、物凄い数の客を効率的に捌く中では仕方がないのかも知れない。
最初、平日ランチに1250円は高いと思ったが、物価高が進む中、実際に味わった後では「安すぎる」との感想に変わった。近所に勤める人が羨ましい。近くに仕事を作って、他のメニューも味わいたい。
