四谷駅前の交差点を、新宿方面に数歩進んだところ。
見過ごしてしまいそうな、近代建築な喫茶店がある。
ドアを開けると、昭和な空気に包まれた喫茶店の光景が広がる。
そして、奥には2階とへ続く螺旋階段が。
一瞬、張り詰めた空気を感じるものの、すぐに打ち解けてしまう不思議な感覚に陥る。
気がつくと、すでに席に座っていた。
ハム＆チーズのミックスサンド 750円と
アイスティー 無糖 700円[ともに税込]。
伝票に、サンドヰッチ、とあるように、
これぞまさにといった、サンドイッチである。
添えられたプチトマトが、和ませてくれる。
パンの味、ハムの味、チーズの味がしっかりと感じられる。
昔ながらの喫茶店に見受けられる、無糖、加糖タイプのアイスコーヒー、アイスティー。
厨房を見ると、白髪の紳士がアイスピックで氷を砕いていたり、パンにナイフを入れていたり。
そして、BGMはビートルズ。
