2024年3月のとある休日の11時過ぎに訪ねた。
四ツ谷駅から徒歩1分の場所にあるコモレ四谷1階にあるタイ・インド料理レストラン「SUNRISE 四ツ谷駅前店」。
広い店内には先客3名ほど。
テーブル席に1人で座り、ランチメニューから「ガパオライスセット」¥1,350を注文する、セットのドリンクには「ストロベリーラッシー」をリクエスト。
すぐにストロベリーラッシーとサラダがやって来る。イチゴジャムの甘みと風味が楽しめるラッシーは中々良いドリンク。
サラダを一口食べたタイミングでガパオライスとスープが提供される。
胡麻ドレッシングがかかったサラダはレタスがメインで食感が心地好い。
目玉焼きが乗ったガパオライスは美しい仕上がり。バジルの風味がしっかりと効いたガパオは程好い塩気で玉ネギ、パプリカの食感があって炒め加減がちょうど良い。粒の長いインディカ米にガパオを馴染ませて食べると良い塩梅。目玉焼きの黄身を潰して具材に絡めて味わうのが良い。
ガパオライスに合わせて味わうサッパリとしたスープは具沢山で豆腐、ニンジン、大根、キクラゲ、ネギ、鶏挽肉が入っている。ちょうど良い味わいで満足度の高い一杯。
ガパオライスは調味料を使って味をカスタマイズしながら楽しむ。唐辛子入りの酢、唐辛子入りのナンプラー、粉唐辛子、砂糖をちょっとずつ振りかけてみる。酸味を加えることで塩気の効いたガパオライスの味に深みが出る。
唐辛子で辛味を加えながら食べると額に汗が滲み出る。口内が辛くなったらサラダとスープで和らげつつランチを楽しむ。ガパオライスに添えられたキュウリも嬉しいアイテム。
食事を食べ終えた後はストロベリーラッシーを飲んでまったりと過ごす。
休日ということもあってかあまり混雑していなかったので居心地の良い店でもある。値段はそれなりにするが満足感のあるエスニック料理が食べられる「SUNRISE」。今回はタイ料理食べたので、次回は是非インド料理を食べたいと思う。
