I was strolling around Arakicho at about three in the afternoon. My goal was to have lunch, but it was late and I wasn't sure if any shops were open. Also, the heat was so intense that I was starting to feel dizzy, and the song by Yoninbayashi started playing in my head. I was thinking of just giving up and buying some Onigiri somewhere and going back to the office, when I saw the word Minmin. I was also attracted by Gyoza / Dumpling, but the dish that looked like a glittering red comet, or rather a red mirror ball, which was also on the sign outside, was very appetizing. Mapo tofu. I decided on that. I was tempted by the allure of eating a pile of Gyoza / Dumpling, but when I entered the restaurant, a horse racing broadcast was playing in its climax, and the older man was earnestly serving and cooking while also keeping an eye on the horse racing, and I caught a surge of manliness. There was a group of customers eating chilled Chinese noodles ahead of me. Ah, the lazy summer air, I felt like this was summer vacation, so I ordered a mapo tofu set meal for 900 yen and sat there sipping cold barley tea. The horse race was approaching the final race and was getting heated. My mapo tofu arrived piping hot. After that, the freshly baked Gyoza / Dumpling arrived. The gentle taste of the soup, the red mapo tofu, and the rice went down well. Gyoza / Dumpling had a reliable taste. I had them with vinegar, pepper, and chili oil. Chinese food is best eaten hot and fresh. The dimly lit interior, the sound of the TV, the sound of the man taking a break after the orders stopped and turning the pages of the newspaper while watching TV, it was nice. I was also excited as I watched the horses working hard over my shoulder and listened to the announcer's commentary. I didn't experience it as a child, but it was a lunch that gave me a flashback to a nostalgic summer vacation. Thank you for the meal.
