I made a reservation in advance. For eel dishes, even if you order eel salad or eel rolls other than eel rice, you have to decide what to order when you make the reservation. But it's a nice building. Not only is the exterior beautiful, but the room I was shown to was a private room with a nice atmosphere, including the decorations. I ordered two special dishes and a shiroyaki, so I only ordered drinks on the day. The rest of the dishes were served. Freshly made soft tofu, kamaboko, broad beans, and firefly squid. I sipped my beer while waiting for the eel to be cooked. The proprietress was a lively Edokko, a direct descendant of the family, and answered various questions clearly. I was grateful to her kindhearted couple for not making us wait until it was ready. First, the shiroyaki was brought out. It was served properly, divided for two people. I think it was coarse salt and dashi soy sauce, but with salt the eel's flavor comes through directly and it's delicious. Of course, it's also delicious with dashi soy sauce. While enjoying all of this, when the pickles and bowl of rice were brought to me, I thought, "Huh? It's ready already?" Perhaps because it was a weekday, the unaju was served sooner than I expected. The special unaju is green in color. I felt excited when I opened the lid. It was so full of eel that you couldn't even see the rice, it was a spectacular sight. The sauce was dry and not too sweet. The eel was fluffy and soft with a perfectly browned and crispy exterior, making it delicious. It was quiet in a private room, so I was able to relax and enjoy the delicious meal. It's good to splurge once in a while.
